Uses / Application of MONO POTASSIUM PHOSPHATE

  • Mono potassium phosphate is widely used as a buffering agent for the determination of PH value
  • Mono potassium phosphate is also used as a food additive and as a fungicide
  • Mono potassium phosphate when used with urea and ammonium phosphates, helps to capture ammonia gas in soil, by keeping PH level low
  • MPP is a rich source of phosphorous and potassium

Information on DI POTASSIUM PHOSPHATE

Di-Potassium phosphate is formed when two equivalents of potassium react with phosphoric acid until the desired PH is obtained. Solution is then further dried to get fine quality white powder. Di-Potassium phosphate also known as potassium hydrogen orthophosphate and potassium phosphate dibasic, is a highly water-soluble salt which is often used as a fertilizer, food additive and buffering agent. It is a common source of phosphorus and potassium.

  • Di-potassium phosphate is used as a buffering agent in antifreeze solution
  • Di-potassium phosphate forms a key ingredient for instant fertilizers
  • DPP is efficient source of nutrition in culturing of antibiotics
  • DPP is also used as sequestrant in the preparation of non-dairy powdered coffee creams
  • DPP is also used in production of  trypti case soy agar which is then further processed to agar plates for culturing bacteria

Tri-Potassium phosphate also known as Potassium Phosphate Tribasic is a water-soluble ionic salt. Tri-Potassium Phosphate requires reaction of a solution of phosphoric acid with Potassium Carbonate and Caustic Potash lye/flex and TPP maintains a minimum PH of 11.5, as compared to Mono and Di potassium Phosphates.

  • Tri-Potassium Phosphate is widely used as a food additive as it carries properties such as whipping agent, foaming agent and emulsifier
  • TPP is also used in poultry processing as it is an potential antimicrobial agent when used with fatty acids
