Mono Sodium Phosphate

Monosodium phosphate is a compound of di-hydrogen phosphate and sodium. One among plenty of sodium phosphates used very commonly as an industrial chemical. It exists as an anhydrous salt, as well as mono- and dehydrates. The salt is obtained by partial neutralization of phosphoric acid and its reaction with Caustic Soda until the desired PH is obtained.Monosodium phosphate which is also known as anhydrous monobasic sodium phosphate and sodium di-hydrogen phosphate.

Applications of Monosodium Phosphate:

  • Mono sodium phosphate is used in process production of baking powders
  • Mono sodium phosphate is efficiently used in boiling water treatment
  • Monosodium Phosphate is used in the formulation of bath products, colognes, dentifrices, mouthwashes, hair conditioners, hair dyes and colours, permanent waves, shampoos, makeup and skin care products.
  • Monosodium Phosphate can be used in Agriculture/Animal Feed/Poultry food, such as in dog food.
  • As pH regulator: in leather processing
  • Monosodium Phosphate is used as a PH buffer along with other Sodium Phosphates

Di Sodium Phosphate

The Di Sodium Phosphate also known as Sodium Phosphate Di Basic, Di Sodium Hydrogen Phosphate, Di Sodium Hydrogen Orthophosphate is sodium salt of phosphoric acid and occurs as a white powder which is highly water soluble and hygroscopic. Di-sodium Phosphate is obtained when a solution of phosphoric acid is reacted with caustic soda, until the higher PH is obtained.
